Orange You Glad

Sunlight is an excellent mood-improver. Tulips brighten a day. Combine sunlight and tulips, and you can't help but smile.

Waddling Through the Leaves

A beautiful and vibrant sight, nothing says autumn more than bountiful harvest colours like these. With a goose thrown in of course, just to reiterate that this is Canada after all.

Ain’t So Fresh Anymore

I don't think I'd be bothered as much by getting older if I aged gracefully like these guys. Here's some newly acquired fresh cut gerbera daisy flowers upon arrival...

... then after a few days of enjoyment at home. Still pretty and interesting:

Minty Fresh

I see stylized photos of flowers in stores and I think they're pretty cool. So why not take some real photos of my own and play around with them in photoshop to give a fabricated feel. An Andy Warhol-esque picture is in my future. Topic: Gerberas, of course!

Totally Tubular

Interesting how the perspective changes your view of the world; I never would have known that these petals are actually little tubes without having looked at them in macro.

Fuchsia

What a weird word to look at - "fuchsia". That's what this is though. And it's absolute perfection. If there was a contest for being perfect, Ms. Gerbera here would be a fan favourite. It hasn't even a single bent petal or bit of an askew tilt anywhere. Ridiculous how amazing nature can be.

Fresh Cut

Whoever's been doing their rain dance needs to stop because it's been raining in the Lower Mainland for I've lost count now how many days on end (or so it seems...). Flowers like these Gerbera Daisies need some serious sun. I'm not a big proponent of artificial things, but a 'hip, hip, hooray' for greenhouses and artificial light.
