Land of the Rising Sun

This is the Vancouver Convention Centre reflecting some early morning rays from the rising run. It's so golden and warm-looking and reminds me of watching one of those Living Fireplace videos. The Living Fireplace is essentially eternal though if you loop the video. This scene is much more ephemeral than that.
Waterfront Morning
I hate getting up early. Sunrise scenes like this though at Canada Place with a camera phone in hand make it worthwhile losing out on some sleep.
Okanagan Sun
The pine trees in the foreground are a good indication that this picture originated from the Interior region of British Columbia. It is a Sunday sunrise over Okanagan Lake.
Postcard From the Edge
Being situated at the westernmost part of the British Columbia mainland grants unlimited picturesque sunsets. It's a free refill of them nightly and never two the same.
White Rock Tides
White Rock is a beautiful waterfront community in the Greater Vancouver Area. After the tide goes out it's a beachcomber's dream. No shortage of shells here for collectors, but if you're seeking pristine samples of shells for your collection that are unmarked and without broken edges, you may have a tough time of it. It's the less-perfect ones that are more beautiful anyhow, right?
P.S. An international thanks to Gerald for adding me on as a Vancouver rep in the guide to daily photoblogs around the world.
Rises Another Day
Sometimes the most innocuous of settings produce something that catches my eye. It is a run-of-the-mill suburb in Langley, but the rising sun gives it a kick of exotic.
176th Street Sunset
It may not be the South Pacific, but what remains of boggy farmland along 176th Street in Surrey has picturesque moments too, like this one taken out of a car window.
