Wet Maple Leaf
Standing out in the rain and getting soaked amongst the falling leaves isn't very pleasant. Standing under a glass overhang to keep dry and looking out at the rain and leaves falling is much more tolerable. Looking up while under the glass overhang is just plain interesting.
Doppleganger Lily
In playing with lighting for this photo I was entertained by the shadowy version that resulted at one point. It reminded me of a doppleganger. Lily on the left panel is the dark and brooding evil one that lurks in the shadows of alleyways. Lily on the right is the personable counterpart who's valedictorian of the class and a ham for attention.
Mum’s the Word
It was back into the macro studio with some fresh cut flower stems. A spider mum this time, also known as a football mum. There's a fly in the apartment, and these flowers are known for their ability to produce a natural insecticide, so we'll see just how long this fly ends up flying around in here.
In The Weeds
I sourced this from the vacant lot around the corner thinking it was chamomile, but it might just be some sort of daisy. I think it's artsy and pretty... although it's kind of weird to compliment a weed like that since these things usually just get pulled out from the lawn along with 4-letter words.
Lily in the Glass
Experimenting with a cheap piece of glass from Ikea, some lights and a calla lily from the local flower shop.
You’ve Been Pink’d
I don't know why, but this shot makes me feel like the Easter Bunny is coming. I guess just because of the pastel colours since I don't think Gerbera Daisies are spring flowers.
Calla Lillies Thrice
Remember for school photos you were told to wear a good colour? And how you're supposed to wear the right coloured shirt to a job interview? I see why - here it's the same calla lily in each panel, but I feel differently about each one because of the colour backing it up. The leftmost one is cheerful, the middle one is relaxed and the one on the right is down to earth.
