Gazania Droplets
Gazania flowers open and close with the daylight and are a drought-resistant flower. After a light morning sprinkle and before the heat of the day evaporated them, water droplets settled on Gazania petals in the back garden.
True Blue

One of the few plants that flowers naturally in the colour blue. It's Alaska's State Flower too. It's the forget-me-not.
Totally Tubular

Interesting how the perspective changes your view of the world; I never would have known that these petals are actually little tubes without having looked at them in macro.
Popping Pills

It's been this kind of day the last couple days. Cold FX, daytime/nightime cold pills and checking the temperature every once in a while for good measure. Colds are so annoying because a sore throat seems so insignificant, but it sure can hurt. I should've actually added a cup of laundry detergent to the photo to summarize the day's activities; laundering of the pillowcases is required after a nighttime of slobbering and drooling sickness.
Zantedeschia
For all you botanists out there that are up on your plant genera, you'll know that Zantedeschia is the genus for Calla Lily. It's a clean and simple flower with elegant lines at a quick glance, but I find it increasingly detailed and complex the more I look at it up close. Especially with the pop of magenta striations built in to this one.

Vibrant Viburnum
This has petals of three instead of five, but I think it's still a variety of Viburnum - the plant that produces these white blooms and those red berries we see around Christmas:

Fuzzy Catkin
In land of the rising sun fashion, here's a twig of pussy willow with a cuddly catkin highlighted. It looks warm, but it's not the real sun in the background. It's the essence of the sun emulated by a flash and coloured posterboard. Still makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside nonetheless.
