Cheese? Yes Please!

The chunks of parmesan resting on the edge of this HUGE block of cheese are the size of normal pieces you'd buy at the grocery store. That gives you an idea how unbelievably enormous this block of Parmesan is. Personally, I wanted to dive right in. But there's those silly rules surrounding sanitation, especially when food is involved as well as other people partaking in the delicious fromagerie besides myself. Tastings were being handed out at a Cheese Festival at Pike Place Market last weekend.

One has to be mindful of the establishment they're in before they order a beverage like the one listed on the bottom of this specials board. I can only imagine the different versions that could be delivered to the table.

Mount Baker Complete With Obtrusive Power Lines

I can't live without electricity or a telephone, but do power lines and telephone poles always have to be in the way? I didn't have a chance to scoot across the Canada-US border to get a cleaner photo of Mt Baker in Washington State on this day when clear skies made the formation look eerily beautiful. This'll have to do. I'm not editing the poles and lines out.

Freedom From Hangovers

A fundamental in retailing is to shelve related categories of products together. Some shopper brought this package of hangover-avoidance pills over from the pharmacy and left them on these cases of beer in the refrigerated section of the supermarket. I'm guessing they were planning ahead, then figured they'd just take their chances.

Because Everyday Is Some Kind of National Holiday

It's National Corn Dog Day! Make sure you celebrate accordingly. For those of you unfamiliar with what a corn dog is, it's a hot dog encased in a cornmeal batter and deep fried. A match made in heaven:
