I stepped on my own glasses. That's almost on par with dropping the cellphone in the toilet, both being embarrassing ways to ruin your own possessions.

Darn. I almost did that last week. I was walking to my car when something caught my eye and (forutnately) I stopped. My glasses were sitting on the ground near my car. My emotiions quickly shot from moritification (that I had nearly loss ‘em and nearly crushed ‘em) to pure relief (that neither of those things happened). Hope you have a spare pair.

scotch tape does not work. i repeat, scotch tape does not work. You’re gonna have to drill 2 holes, stick a metal pin in it, then bond it with epoxy, and even then, it’ll kind of feel like you’re a bit drunk when you wear them. I’m afraid the only remedy is new glasses, my friend. I have broken my glasses before, although the story was slightly more interesting and worthwhile than just stepping on them….

My condolences! Crazy glue doesn’t seem to be doing the trick, so I think mine may be in the same state as yours.

lol It would have been more ironic if I’d stepped on them while I was looking for them, alas the story isn’t that amusing at all. Seems like a waste of an action for not having at least gotten a good tale to tell out of it! I have contacts to rely on, and tape in the meantime! How nerdy.

I was at the store choosing between Crazy Glue and that Gorilla glue stuff. I chose the former since we all know that stuff bonds even human skin, and after trying it I’m…….. *drum roll*…….. back at where I started. I even got the extra strength stuff! Hmph. So much for that idea. You sound like you know what you’re talking about for a fix! But if I take a drill to these things, I have visions of the frames shattering into multiple pieces, instead of just the two pieces they’re in now! Probably my best bet is to be off to Dr. Specs in the near future. Although I’m not so fond of the huge giant plastic frames on my face – you know, like the stylin’ ones the kids are wearing these days without even glass in them – just the frames. I guess that’s cool. I need actual lenses in my frames to help me see. I guess that’s uncool.
