  1. Impressive jump and photo. Hopefully he can jump like that even without that energy drink.

  2. He is really flying! Terrific action shot!!

  3. Sweet capture! That guy got some air on that jump. I love the height that you captured and the crowd leaning in to watch him — and he actually has his eyes open! Any indications of Crazy Glue on his shoes???

  4. Nice shot! Nice lens you used too!

  5. Hmmm… I’m pretty sure you can’t just get up off the couch and start doing an activity like that. haha I see why an energy drink would be involved in this event!

  6. Thank you :) I happened to get lucky getting one of them in focus… and not cutting off an arm or leg with the frame at the same time!

  7. As was illustrated by the frequency they’d lose the board and bail on the way down, I can vouch that there was no sort of adherence assistance between the shoes and board! Actually, come to think of it, some of those fails actually made good photos too…! Blood was even drawn towards the end of the competition when this guy in the photo actually tore off some of his palm. Yikes!

  8. Thanks! Gosh, it’s harder than it looks to take a good action photo. Hurray for digital because there was a lot of deleting that had to take place! I can’t fathom what they did in the days of film… imagine taking a bunch of sports action photos, not being able to even preview them, then going to get the film developed in the store, waiting in anticipation, going back to pick up the photos and flipping through all the fuzzy captures and heads and feet cut off in the photos that you just waited for and paid to develop :P Frustration! haha

  9. I’ve thought the same thing about taking sports pics in the ‘ol film days. I never would have survived!

  10. Well, you may have survived, but your bank account wouldn’t have! Nor your patience for that matter either probably…!
