The BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival
For all you Scots out there an assortment of activities were held yesterday at the 2010 BC Highland Games and Scottish Festival in Coquitlam to celebrate your heritage. I was hungry and ready to partake in loads of haggis, but I found nary a bite of it available. There was lots of other fun to observe regardless:
The RCMP Pipe Band.
Highland dancing competition.
Falconry demonstration with the largest of the falcon species - the Gyrfalcon.
A practice session by the world championship SFU Drum Corps.

Looks like a grand festival! Your photos captured well the feel with everything going on and all those kilts!

Terrific shots. I really like the bagpiper’s puffed cheeks and the dancers you captured bouncing mid-air. Looks like a fun festival. But, how could it be a Scottish festival with no haggis?!
