Look Up

The majestic trees at Lynn Canyon in North Vancouver are even more impressive when you look up and consider how small you are... and young. These trees have seen at least the past one hundred years, being second-growth forests planted at the turn of the last century.

  1. Terrific perspective! I think I’m experiencing vertigo just looking at it. What kind of trees are those? The trunks are awfully thin.

  2. There’s a variety of cedar, hemlock and fir growing there. Some old cedar trunks are 2-3 people wide! None of the stems are that thick in this shot though, and the wiiiide angle lens tends to stretch them at this perspective to boot.
