Pao!
Upon exiting a local grocery store, I was impressed to see this Nissan Pao in the parking lot. Very few of this retro-styled model were sold back in 1989, and the mild West Coast weather has helped preserve it alongside owner(s) that have obviously cared for it over the years. A peek inside the rain-soaked windows below shows that this one was automatic, not the more sought after manual transmission, albeit it was still completely intriguing. There was something dangling from the rearview mirror, and a bag of higher-end Nutro cat food on the passenger seat. Must be a female driver... who likes cats:

That car is sooo cute! Did you hug it? When I was teaching in Japan back in 1990, a neighbor lady had a PAO!

No hug, but it did get an “awwwww”. Everything about it was interesting, from the rear windows to how the side mirrors are attached to the dashboard meters!

I’ve owned a Pao for the last five years here in western Canada. They were only sold in Japan, so all were shipped here. Mine is still going strong, but the heater can’t keep up when the temp falls below -10. It’s quirky, cute and makes people notice/ask questions. It’s an extroverts car for sure!

Awesome! What a cool car. Driving on the right must take some getting used to. Good thing our winters are mild – keeps you running all year long
