An Almond Revealed
The squirrels usually get to all the nuts first and steal them away, but almonds are a hard nut to crack so the squirrels tend to leave the almond tree alone. Here's the stages of how the almonds you snack on get from the tree to your snacking bowl:

How do you phonetically pronounce the name of that nut?
April 26th, 2010 - 08:02
Pronounciation is AL-mond >> it’s just like “altitude”, “allan”, “salmon”, “albertsons”…. My pronounciation is as correct as yours. Try and try as you might, but you cannot talk me into thinking it’s more proper to say it another way. Nice try! haha

Tut, tut, you colonials! Its ‘ar-mond’ of course with a silent ‘l’. Surely the eastern side of Canada has precedence over the western side where pronunciation is concerned? Speaking as one totally ignorant of Canadian politics and not wishing to stir things up.

By population numbers (and some attitude!), the eastern side of Canada does take precedence over the western side. I’ll always think I’m right though naturally…

Can we agree that the nut pictured above, (like most nuts) when coated with dark chocolate is very very delicious!
April 27th, 2010 - 11:37
Granted nuts coated with chocolate ARE delicious. As for pronunciation, DO NOT listen to Easterners. How can you listen to people who think that the western borders of Canada can be seen from the top of the CN tower.

Anything coated in dark chocolate is delicious. I wonder if putting two delicious things together like cheese and chocolate would cancel each others’ deliciousnesses out and make something icky?

Their eyes must be really good! Or the landmass of Canada has been shrinking.
April 29th, 2010 - 05:12
Cheese and chocolate? Hmmm. I think if anyone could have made it taste good it probably would have been the French or the Swiss…haha.

Or the japanese or chinese, using some sort of strange packaging with odd characters on it that you’d see in T&T Supermarket. That would make a combination like chocolate covered cheese more “normal”… haha
